Meanwhile, the boat was far out to sea when the wind came up against them and they were battered by the waves. At about four o'clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them walking on the water. They were scared out of their wits. "A ghost!" they said, crying out in terror. 27But Jesus was quick to comfort them. "Courage, it's me. Don't be afraid." 28Peter, suddenly bold, said, "Master, if it's really you, call me to come to you on the water."29 -30He said, "Come ahead." Jumping out of the boat, Peter walked on the water to Jesus. But when he looked down at the waves churning beneath his feet, he lost his nerve and started to sink. He cried, "Master, save me!" Jesus didn't hesitate. He reached down and grabbed his hand. Then he said, "Faint-heart, what got into you?" The two of them climbed into the boat, and the wind died down. The disciples in the boat, having watched the whole thing, worshiped Jesus, saying, "This is it! You are God's Son for sure!"
What Peter would say...
When we come to the edge of the light we know, and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, of this we can be sure- either God will provide something solid to stand on or we will be taught to fly. -unknown

In Matthew 14:24-33, we learn from Peter that the life of faith cannot always be lived safely; sometimes you must be willing to take Godly risk. You may ask, “What is Godly risk?" Godly risk is when God prompts you to take action, often requiring you to do something out of the ordinary. He often doesn't even provide all the details of the assignment. God called Peter to walk on the water, a pretty unordinary task!
Do you believe you've heard God's voice? Have you been prompted to do something out of the ordinary? Does what he is asking you to do seem unheard of? Do you believe that God has called you to do great things for him?
God has given each of us an assignment. He sent us out to do his work. At the point when we have learned his assignment for our lives and decided to pursue that assignment, we must build up enough courage to find our way out of the boat (out of our comfort zone). With boldness we step out, though unsure of what awaits us. As we make our way along the journey, things get a little rocky and times a little tough. We often begin to doubt. We feel like we will fall. But when we finally decide to stop doing things our own way and have the will to cry out “Lord help me,” the Lord hears us and moves to action. When we realize that nothing is too difficult for God, then we can continue to walk on the water and find ourselves closer to Jesus. Remember, you are made in the image of Jesus Christ...
